Yes! 

A trial spray tan is recommended, especially if it's your first time but even if you have been into the salon with us before. A trial tan is essential to determining your perfect wedding color. 

We always recommend a "trial tan" at least 2-3 weeks before the big event spray tan. This allows you to make sure you are in love with the color and depth of tone of your tan.

We like to tell our brides to use their trial tan as one of their Bridal event tans so no tans go to waste, whether that be a Bridal Shower, Bachelorette Party, or even just Wedding Dress Shopping!

Please schedule your wedding tan 2-3 days before your wedding date.

If you are doing a destination wedding and leaving several days before the wedding, please let your technician know so we can adjust your solution formula, add on Moisture Lock, and ensure you have the proper after care products to help prolong your wedding tan!

Any waxing, massages, facials, manicures or pedicures will need to be done at least 24 hours before your service.

DO NOT schedule any beauty appointments after your Spray Tan.  

We've all heard the wedding horror stories and tan transferring to your wedding dress is one of them.

Thankfully, Cowtown we ensure proper steps are taken after your initial tan to when you are putting on your wedding dress for the big day.

First, we make sure that you have at least two showers with a tan-safe body wash! This will ensure that all of the cosmetic bronzers are off your body to prevent any tan transfer.

All of our solutions are fully customizable meaning if you are worried about the cosmetic bronzers in your airbrush tan staining certain materials or surfaces, we recommend you to opt for our "Clear Glow". This is the only way we can guarantee the solution won't stain any of your items.

Please note, our bronzers are water soluble and should rinse out of most fabrics if contact occurs. We have never had any issues with our brides and they're dressed but we always like to be completely transparent with all of our clients with the "what ifs".

Our sunless tans are formulated to last 7-10 days, so well into your honeymoon!

Now, this number can be affected by how your prep your skin for the tan AND by what you are using on your body after your spray tan.

Make sure you have at the minimum a tan-safe Body Lotion AND a tan-safe Body Wash to get you through the wedding without any cracking from dry skin or premature fading from product residues.

There are a few tips and tricks we always recommend for clients looking to get the MOST out of their Sunless Tan.

1. Add-On Moisture Lock to your spray tan service. This is a post-tan hydrator, applied by your technician, that seals in moisture and helps prolong the tan by 2-3 days.

2. If you are going to any tropical destinations for or after your wedding, we LOVE sending clients off with our Glo on the Go Kit! This entire kit is TSA-approved and will help replenish color that has been lost from the elements.

3. Lastly, we recommend using a Tan Extending Lotion in the evenings, starting on day 3 of your tan, to gradually replenish color that is lost from your skin naturally shedding / tan fading. *Make sure to wash your hands after using any tan extenders or gradual tanners as they can stain/tan the palms of the hands.

After the advised time your technician gives you, rinse with water and take a full shower (using soap) 24 hours later.

On the day your technician recommends, typically 2-4 days (this is usually the same amount of days out from your wedding that you will be getting your final tan after your tan), you will want to evaluate your tan. Evaluate your tan in natural light and while wearing something in a color similar to your wedding attire.

This way, you can provide feedback during your return visit, helping us make any necessary adjustments for your final tan appointment. Your satisfaction is our priority!

If your trial tan turns out a bit too dark or not quite enough, your technician will have a pre-consultation with you before starting your final bridal appointment. This allows us to discuss any adjustments you'd like from your trial tan session.
